Dr. Giorgi Chkhartishvili

Dr. Giorgi Chkhartishvili is a highly qualified physician with extensive clinical, administrative, and international medical experience. He regularly participates in international trainings to continuously enhance his professional competencies.

Since 2026, Dr. Chkhartishvili has served as a Clinical Surveyor at the Healthcare Quality Assessment Accreditation Council, where he oversees clinical governance, patient safety, epidemiology, infection prevention and control, and clinical risk management within the accreditation processes of healthcare organizations.

Since 2022, he has also been serving as a Ship Physician at Vikand Medical Solutions / Viking Cruises, providing medical care to passengers and crew in accordance with international healthcare standards.

From May 2006 to October 2021, Dr. Chkhartishvili worked with international cruise companies as a Senior Ship Physician on mega-liners and mega-yachts, ensuring compliance with international maritime medical protocols and delivering high-quality medical care onboard.

From 2005 to 2006, he served as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Health and Social Care of Adjara and concurrently fulfilled the role of Executive Manager at the Batumi Dialysis Center, overseeing operations, staff management, and patient care services.

From 2004 to 2005, he served as Head of the Batumi Municipal Health and Social Care Department, managing public health initiatives and municipal health programs. In 2004, he was also involved in the OSCE project as a Medical Advisor for the Russia–Georgia border monitoring mission.

From 2002 to 2003, he participated in the BTC (Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan) Oil Pipeline Project as an Offshore Physician, responsible for personnel medical safety, health monitoring, and emergency care.

Earlier in his career, from 1996 to 2004, he served at Batumi Municipal Hospital as an Anesthesiologist and Emergency Medicine Physician, and from 1993 to 2004, he worked as an Anesthesiologist at the Batumi Maritime Medical Center.

Dr. Chkhartishvili’s academic background is rooted in Tbilisi State Medical University, where he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1990 with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. He completed his postgraduate professional training at the Tbilisi Postgraduate Medical Training Academy from 1991 to 1993. His professional contributions extend beyond clinical roles, as he continuously integrates clinical, administrative, and maritime healthcare expertise through international medical projects and development programs.
