Dr. Mamuka Nakashidze

Dr. Mamuka Nakashidze is a highly qualified surgeon (Ph.D., M.D.) with extensive clinical, administrative, and managerial experience in the healthcare sector. His professional expertise spans surgical practice, regional healthcare policy, and the implementation of international quality standards.

Since 2026, Dr. Mamuka Nakashidze has served as a Clinical Surveyor at the Healthcare Quality Assessment Accreditation Council, where he oversees clinical governance, patient safety, epidemiology, infection prevention and control, and clinical risk management within the accreditation processes of healthcare organizations.

Currently, he also serves as the Director of MEDSTANDARD CONSULTING, where he leads strategic initiatives in healthcare management.

From 2010 to 2025, Dr. Nakashidze was the Clinical Director and Quality Manager at the Maritime Medical Center “Sagittarius”. In this capacity, he supervised clinical governance, oversaw the implementation of patient safety standards, and directed internal quality control systems.

His extensive leadership experience includes serving as the Director of the Western Georgia Regional Center for Dialysis and Nephrology (2008–2022) and as the Minister of Labor, Health, and Social Protection of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara (2005–2007). In his capacity as Minister, he led regional healthcare policy formation, systemic reforms, and the coordination of public health programs. Prior to this, from 2004 to 2005, he headed the Health Care and Social Welfare Service of the Batumi City Municipality.

Dr. Nakashidze’s clinical background is rooted in surgery, having practiced at the Batumi Clinical Hospital and the Regional Oncology Center (2007–2008) and Batumi No. 1 Hospital (1996–2004), where he specialized in general and emergency surgery.

In the academic sphere, he has been engaged in teaching since 2012, conducting first aid training courses at Batumi Navigation University. He is the author of five international scientific publications and regularly participates in international scientific conferences and professional training programs.

Dr. Nakashidze graduated from Tbilisi State Medical Academy in 1996, specializing in Surgery. His professional interests remain focused on clinical management, healthcare quality improvement, and the implementation of international accreditation standards.
