Dr. Giorgi Chkhartishvili is an experienced physician who has worked in emergency medicine, maritime medicine, environmental medicine, and public health for over 30 years. He began his professional career in 1991 in the ICU/Anesthesiology department at Central Hospital in Batumi as a physician, following to graduation from Tbilisi State Medical University with a master's degree. In the following years, he was appointed head of the ICU/Anesthesiology department at the Municipality Hospital of Batumi. He was also the Head of the Department of Health and Social Services of Batumi Municipality and Deputy Minister of Health and Social Affairs for the Ministry of the Republic of Adjara. Since 2006, Dr. Chkhartishvili has worked as a ship's medical officer on Royal Caribbean cruise ships, marking a new endeavor in maritime/cruise medicine. He has led medical programs on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Azamara cruise ships, helping to strengthen operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and global healthcare standards of care. His experience has given him a robust understanding of healthcare systems, quality assurance, and cross-functional consulting.
